TNWSB held its Pre-Sports 2026 on 30 September at Rush Arena, Cooke Town, Bengaluru, with a five-a-side football tournament featuring 14 teams. IHAO FC emerged as champions after a full day of sport and friendly competition.
The Tangkhul Naga Welfare Society Bengaluru held its Pre-Sports 2026 on 30 September 2026 at Rush Arena, Cooke Town, Bengaluru, and what a day it turned out to be. The centrepiece was a five-a-side football tournament that brought together 14 teams from across our community in the city, all of them turning up ready to play, cheer and enjoy the game together.
Fourteen teams is a wonderful turnout, and it says a lot about how much our members look forward to sport. From the first whistle to the last, the ground stayed busy with matches, warm-ups, team huddles and plenty of shouting from the sidelines. Five-a-side keeps the game quick and close, so every match mattered and every team had its moments. Players got a real chance to show their football skills, and they did not hold back.
What stood out most was not just the football but the spirit around it. Teams strengthened their bonds, old friends caught up, and newer members found their place among the sides. The tournament was as much about unity and sportsmanship as it was about the scoreline, and that showed in the way teams encouraged one another and carried themselves on and off the pitch. It was a friendly competition in the truest sense, played hard but played well.
After an exciting round of competition, IHAO FC emerged as the champion of the TNWSB Pre-Sports 2026. Congratulations to the players and everyone who stood behind them through the day. Winning a tournament of this size takes consistency, teamwork and no small amount of running, and IHAO FC earned the title.
Just as important were all the other teams who made the day what it was. A tournament is only as good as the sides that show up, and with 14 teams on the ground, the Pre-Sports felt like a proper community gathering. Every player who laced up, every substitute waiting for a turn, and every supporter who came along to cheer contributed to the atmosphere. Thank you to all of them.
The event formed an important part of the society's sporting activities ahead of the Annual Sports Meet, and it did exactly what it set out to do: it promoted fellowship, encouraged participation, and brought our community closer through sport. It also gave everyone a taste of what is coming, and the excitement for the Annual Sports Meet is already building.
Our thanks go to everyone who helped put the day together and to all the teams and supporters who made Rush Arena such a lively place to be on 30 September. Well played, IHAO FC, and well played to every team that took part. We look forward to seeing the same energy, the same faces and hopefully a few new ones at the Annual Sports Meet.
