TNWSB Annual Sports 2026

The Tangkhul Naga Welfare Society Bengaluru held its Annual Sports Meet 2026 on 6 and 7 October at Don Bosco College, TC Palya, Bengaluru. Over two days, members of our community came together on the field and the court, and what a wonderful two days it turned out to be. The event was all about unity, teamwork, sportsmanship and fellowship, and every team that took part carried that spirit with them from the first whistle to the last.

Eleven teams took part this year: Austin Town, Vivek Nagar, Ejipura, Kammanahalli, Kothanur, Anepalya, Faith Trust, Grace Home, H.S.R. Layout, Hoodi and Veteran. It was heartening to see so many of our sub-units turn up with full energy, cheering each other on and giving their very best in every match. The competition was keen, but the friendliness on and off the field was even stronger.

The occasion was honoured by three distinguished chief guests: Mr. Wungreingam Shimray, Chairman of TCCB; Mr. Chipem Keishing, Chaplain of TCFB; and Rev. Dr. Jewel Azyamah, Pastor of TBCB. Their presence added significance to the two days and encouraged the participants as they came together to celebrate sports and community fellowship. We are grateful to each of them for taking the time to be with us.

Competitions were held in men's football, men's volleyball, men's basketball, women's soccer, women's volleyball and women's basketball. Each team competed with enthusiasm and determination, and the games gave everyone a chance to showcase their talents while strengthening relationships across the different sub-units of the society.

The results are in. In men's football, Vivek Nagar emerged as the winner. Ejipura secured the winning title in men's volleyball and also emerged as the winner in men's basketball. In women's soccer, Austin Town secured the winning title. Ejipura emerged as the winner in women's volleyball, and Vivek Nagar secured the winning title in women's basketball.

When all the competitions were done, Ejipura stood out as the Overall Winner of the TNWSB Annual Sports 2026, having secured victories in men's volleyball, men's basketball and women's volleyball. Their performance right across the competitions earned them the overall championship title, and the celebrations that followed were a joy to watch.

More than just a sporting competition, the Annual Sports Meet 2026 was an occasion for the Tangkhul community in Bengaluru to come together, celebrate our talents and strengthen the bonds of unity and fellowship that hold us together. The active participation of all eleven teams and the presence of our distinguished chief guests made the two days truly memorable.

Thank you to every player, every team, every supporter on the sidelines and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the meet run so smoothly. Congratulations once again to Ejipura on the overall title, and to all our winners and participants. We look forward to seeing even more of you on the field next year.
